When a mobile app matters as much as the web experience, cross-platform frameworks like Flutter or React Native let you ship to iOS and Android from a single codebase — reducing the overhead of maintaining two separate native apps, without necessarily sacrificing performance for most business applications. Database choice matters just as much as the frontend framework. Relational databases like MySQL or PostgreSQL remain the right default for most business platforms — structured data, workflows, reporting — while specialized needs sometimes justify a different tool alongside it, not instead of it.
